December 1 at 6:30 PM |
The images of Jesus at the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) span 1300 years, and each one is a fascinating snapshot of what Christians believed about Jesus when it was created. Join MFA docent, Allendale member, and art history teacher John Stewart for Images of Jesus at the MFA, a tour that explores these images and decodes what they tell us about the history of Christianity. We will also examine an image of the man much of the world considered the savior, the son of God and the king of kings. (HINT: It wasn’t Jesus.)
Images of Jesus at the MFA will be Thursday, December 1 at 6:30 PM. The cost for the museum is $12, payable at admission. There is no extra charge for the tour.
This tour is the rescheduled tour cancelled by tropical storm Nicole. The Museum of Fine Arts is located at 255 Beach Dr. NE, St. Petersburg.
